Gothic Hair Dreads Care
Shampoo bars for gothic hair dreads at Queen Bee Luxuries1. If you're using Gothic hair extensions for gothic hair dreads: Don't try to get every hair in place. It can end up looking too unnatural. You want a slightly messy look. 2. In addition to clip-in Gothic hair extensions, Gothic dreads are also made for quick and temporary changes in your hairstyle. The dreads are attached to lace or a hair elastic. Put your hair up in two tight little buns for pigtails or in a tight bun in the back for a ponytail. You then tie the Gothic hair dreads in.
3. If you’re a first timer, your Gothic hair dreads might feel loose. If this happens, cut up an old pair of panty hose or stocking and tying them into your hair for extra security, then you can wear a headband or a pair of goggles to hide where the dreads are attached. 4. If you have a round or square-shaped face, try to add height with clip-in Gothic hair extensions at the top while keeping the sides closer to your head. If you have a longer face, minimize height at the top and fluff out the sides. To hold the hairstyle in place, use a good hairspray or styling cream for synthetic hair. 5. If you’re caught in the rain with Gothic hair dreads, hang them up to dry in your laundry room or a warm place in your house. If you don’t, they can grow moldy and then you would have to get rid of them. Dread falls absorb odours easily, so if you wear them to a place that’s smoky, hang them up for a few hours after you take them out. If the do get smelly, your can spray them with Fabreeze and hang them up. 6. Special products should also be used on human hair extensions because the hair in human hair extensions has been processed several times and is vulnerable to damage. Any high quality shampoo formulated for processed hair may be used. Suggested guidelines for cleaning are after 10 to 14 days of wear. 7. Only shampoos, conditioners, hair sprays and other styling accessories designed specifically for synthetic hair should be used to take care of synthetic hair or blended (synthetic/human) hair extensions. After shampooing and conditioning, make sure to rinse your hairpieces thoroughly in cool water. Always use a soft towel and carefully blot dry (do not scrub). Allow your clip-on Gothic hair extensions to dry naturally on a stand. 8. Shampoo bars are an excellent way to keep the scalp clean without ruining dreaded hair. Shampoo bars without sodium lauryl sulfate are the best way to go as they won't dry our or irritate the scalp. What you can do is part dreaded hair along the seams and rub the shampoo bar directly on the scalp, lather and rinse carefully. 9. Tval creates shampoo bars in small batches, are preservative-free and are solid. They come in three different scents and have different purposes. "Fresh" is made with peppermint and patchouli and is good for itchy, troublesome scalps. "Shine" is made with sea salt, lemon juice and citrus essential oils. It's good to give hair bounce and shine.
