1. If you're using Gothic hair extensions for gothic hair dreads: Don't try to get every hair in place. It can end up looking too unnatural. You want a slightly messy look.

Any high quality shampoo formulated for processed hair may be used. Suggested guidelines for cleaning are after 10 to 14 days of wear.

7. Only shampoos, conditioners, hair sprays and other styling accessories designed specifically for synthetic hair should be used to take care of synthetic hair or blended (synthetic/human) hair extensions. After shampooing and conditioning, make sure to rinse your hairpieces thoroughly in cool water. Always use a soft towel and carefully blot dry (do not scrub). Allow your clip-on Gothic hair extensions to dry naturally on a stand.

8. Shampoo bars are an excellent way to keep the scalp clean without ruining dreaded hair. Shampoo bars without sodium lauryl sulfate are the best way to go as they won't dry our or irritate the scalp.
